Ganesh LalAgrawal (GLA) College is a leading institution of Jharkhand’s Palamau region that is consistently working in the field of higher education since last six decades. It is not only the oldest institution but has been the only centre for Post Graduate education prior to the establishment of new state University in Palamu. It was constituent unit of Ranchi University earlier but after the establishment of Nilambar-Pitambar University it became its constituent unit and is most prominent college of the university. It is recognized by UGC under section 2(f) and 12(B) since long time and follows the National Curriculum of UGC in all faculties and disciplines.
      The college offers Degree (Hons. & Pass) Courses in almost all subjects of Arts and Sciences and Post-Graduate Courses in fourteen subjects. The College also runs courses in B.Sc.(Computer Application) and B.Sc.(Bio-technology) along with teacher training course B.Ed. The faculty also provides supervision and guidance for Doctoral Degree in various subjects. IGNOU Centre is also supplementing the academic aura of the institution.
      The college is located in the Baralota area of Medininagar(Daltonganj) and is spread in vast area of 84 acres (approx.) equipped with beautiful greenery, good infrastructure and facilities. There are additional facilities of nationalized bank (SBI) and Post Office within the campus. The college is well connected by road and rail with nearby cities of Ranchi, Patna, Varanasi, Bilaspur etc. The nearest railway station is Daltonganj.
